This past week has been extremely busy with a coordinated effort among several “volunteers.” We became aware of an individual starting anew and needed assistance in doing so. With the help of others, the foundation was able to do far more than I alone have been able to do in the past.
I received calls from individuals that heard from a friend that furniture was needed, and they had a bedroom set looking to start anew as well. One individual has been relentless in finding a desk/secretary, lamps, baking dishes, end tables, bedroom sets through her association with another organization and curb alerts. Another individual is providing a spare television and offered a bedroom set as well. Cash donations were made to help with purchasing a living room set. The foundation was able to provide dishes, pots and pans, silverware, utensils, and drinking glasses. My church is providing storage until the individual is ready for move in.
I learned that the hearts of people to help an individual they do not know goes far and deep. It was a blessing to witness such generosity and caring! I am very grateful to all involved.
